New camper or old camper, here's a useful guidebook

Whether you're new to camping or an old hand at outdoor fun and buying and using tents, you'll find some great websites with useful information everywhere -- but whatever you do, don't neglect the many printed books and magazines out there.

I ran onto a great, useful guidebook for you, whether your a new camper or an old camper (okay, not "old"; experienced). It's a small paperback published last year by Ragged Mountain Press, a division of longtime "how-to" publishers McGraw-Hill. The book is "Camping in Comfort: A Guide to Roughing It with Ease and Style," by Lynn Haney. Do not let the title of the book fool you: It is chocked full of useful tips, product suggestions, great "how-tos" for just about everything related to camping, and it's a convenience size for tucking into your backpack or blanket roll to accompany you on the camping trial wherever that might lead.

This is a very practical book, discussing everything from tent styles to cooking supplies. I highly recommend this book. (You could tell that already, couldn't you?) If you can't find it in a local bookstore or elsewhere online, you can go directly to the publisher's website.)
