Which is right for you — camping in tents or motor vehicles?

Are you most interested in camping in a tent -- or a motor home or some time of RV setting? There are benefits and reasons for either or both tent camping and the wide variety of large and small RVs and popup tent campers.
1. Camping in a tent generally is less expensive. A quality tent for an individual may run $100-$200 or less. A good tent for family camping might run twice as much, depending on where and what you want to buy. For an RV or even simple popup tent RVs will undoubtedly run much more, up to thousands of dollars more.
2. Camping in a tent puts you more "in touch" with the outdoor living and camping experience. Let's face it, good tents give you shelter, adequate protection from weather, and privacy. But they also leave you the clear feeling of being in nature. On the other hand, an RV may be so much "comfort of home" that it insulates you from nature.
3. RV camping allows you to bring some of the conveniences of home which you cannot get in a tent. That may or may not be an advantage you're seeking. (See the above point.)
4. RV or motor home camping makes many cooking and sanitation issues much better if you aren't used to "rugged outdoors" or woodcraft. If you spend most of your life in a town or city, you may not want to give up the indoor toilet, an actual shower, or a cook stove instead of cooking over an open fire. (Of course, you can find many of those conveniences at a good campground facility if they are really important to you!)

What are you looking for in a camping experience? If you want something like miniature, modified "apartment living" at a campground, RV or motor home camping may be ideal for you. If you want to get closer to the great outdoors and enjoy being a part of nature, tent camping or some more simplified camping shelter would be the way you need to go.
Whichever experience you choose, you can find a wide selection of bargain prices and available camping equipment at eBay, the world's largest camping marketplace!
